Every year the Daytona Bike Week is held during spring time and this is considered by many to be the start of the motorcycle riding season, unofficially of course. It is an event that normally draws around 500,000 motorcycle enthusiasts while pumping some $300 million into the Daytona Beach economy.

These days most biker patches have a heat sensitive glue on the back of them to make it easier to apply them but despite that, there are times when it is going to be more appropriate to stitch them on instead. Mounting a patch on leather is just one example. But how do you do it in a way that keeps the patch secure and looking good for a long period of time? Those who are very keen bikers would agree that there is a very unique culture among those in the world of bikers; they have their own way of looking at things and doing things as well as their own individual lifestyles, their own vocabulary and their own idioms. To be a biker is to be somewhat unique in an American culture that seems to pride itself in homogeneity. Yet in the biker culture, individuality is both celebrated and a necessity. Making sure you have the right safety gear is really important when you are using or riding on a motorcycle. Whilst a motorbike helmet is the most important piece of safety equipment, it will only protect you if it is the correct type of helmet and it fits properly. Have you ever seen a young child riding on a bike sporting an adult size helmet? In the event of an accident , the helmet would offer no protection to the child’s skull at all.

To be able to get insurance for a motorcycle one has to define what a motorcycle is first. So put simply, a motorcycle is any vehicle that has two wheels and is powered by a mechanical engine. It is still classified as a motorcycle even if it has a side car or a trailer. A three wheeled vehicle is classified as a motorcycle as long as it has two out of the three wheels on the same axle.
