Are you a beginner in the world of motorcycles? Uncertain which motorcycle helmet to choose? They are many excellent brands and designs out there, but the favourite among newbie motorcyclist is the AGV K3 helmet. It’s a durable inexpensive helmet that’s ideal for those on a budget.

The AGV K3 series is a comfy helmet, lined with a removable and washable lining made of Dry Lex fabric – a fabric that owns moisture transport capabilities, which in turn, keeps the head area dry. The AGV K3 also owns an excellent ventilation system – an ideal tool to keep you cool as you cruise along those roads. The ventilation system comprises of an air intake system, which includes two air vents on the front of the helmet and one front mouth vent, too as two rear extractors that are found at the back of the helmet.

The K3 also comes with a clean, anti-scratch and anti-fog polycarbonate Street 8 visor, a visor that’ll enable you’ve to an great level of visibility. However, this alone could not stop the visor from steaming upward, so a visor ratchet system has been added to allow a little amount of air in (it works by opening upward the visor at a variety of angles), so as to clear up the fog.

It also has a High Resistant Thermoplastic Resin shell – a solid material that protects your head from direct impact. This material has the added advantage of being relatively gentle, meaning it can be carried around very easily. The thermoplastic is also painted, hence you can find numerous styles that are fun and individual, but still the most popular colour is african american. Although, white is the most visible colour it’s not really so widely used due to the fashionable image of the motorcyclist all clad in black.

Furthermore, the K3’s micro metric buckle, also known as Double D lock mechanism, is an great accessory that allows you to very easily adjust the strap and is open on the K3 model, however, if you prefer a fast release system (the XQRS) the K3 plain model is for you.

The K3 is an perfect helmet, with a number of key features that aim to keep you safe, comfortable and cool. When choosing a motorcycle helmet, always remember to find a fine fit that is comfortable.

A helmet is a life saver, as the law claims that it is the most vital protective gear in the life of a biker. The fun of biking is in the edge of the balance. No matter how seasoned you are, your own or somebody else’s error can cost a human life. Helmet then becomes your guardian angel. In most cases purchasing a helmet becomes a last minute job only before or after purchasing the bike.

If understood adequately, it can become a very technical procedure. People naturally do not really spend enough time and because of uneasy helmets their riding becomes a less-enjoyable experience. This may also be caused by just buying one based on its looks or on the suggestion of the bike dealer.

Following are some specifications which can make biking, a safe fun for you:

1. DOT Certification: The job a helmet is to provide you safety. If it doesn’t ensure so then there is no use of wearing it. D.O.T. (Department of Transportation) provides a certification that you can find on a sticker at the back of your helmet. These helmets are tested in extreme in conditions and conform to all regulations needed to keep you safe.

2. Retention: The helmet should comfortably sit on your head, unless you take it off yourself. The helmet should retain its position on your head when you experience accidental jumps or unexpected bumps. It should not slide off your head particularly when it’s bound to provide you protection.

3. Fit: Retention aspect works only when it fits on your head perfectly. You should be able to move your head aptly, envisioning all angles. The helmet should also be selected with reference to your head shape.

4. Comfort: The physical and mental comfort is a must when choosing a helmet. This needs self-ascertaining and you should try various types before you find your own exclusively suitable piece.

5. Coverage: It refers to the areas that your helmet covers. It means all the regions of your face and head that are protected by it. Trendy ones also provide additional extensions that make it look stylish but it all becomes useless if it not really providing complete coverage to your head, back of neck and forehead.

6. Face-shield: Face-shield is a definite irritation for some bikers but only like the helmet it must also conform to molding certifications that come along it. Covering the face is definitely a motive but not really at the cost of making you feel claustrophobic. Try numerous of them, until you find one equally ventilated.

7. Convenience features: This encompasses a quick-change face-shield and a storage bag when you can carry an extra helmet.

8. Appearance: A wide-range of variety is open in the markets to make you confused easily. Much more complicated looking are more expensive. Multi-colored ones are often much more expensive than single colored helmets.

9. Cost: All these specifications and certifications make such helmets expensive and way much more than the cheaper ones. A good helmet is no less than an insurance policy, beyond its look invest in it enough to remain safe and to keep enjoying biking.

If you are thinking about buying used cars then begin by doing a thorough planning. You need to look at it from different angles and consider many things before you actually lay your hands on a good car. Buying a new car may be an easier task but the element of affordability makes buying a second hand car a better deal for many of us.

The foremost thing is that one should make up his mind on which model of car to buy. We all have varied expectations, and it is no different when buying a car. Many things drive our expectations like how much we can stretch our budget, our driving habits etc.

More the number of factors we consider while buying a car, the more will it narrow down our search. This helps a lot while deciding the best among a few. Always make it a point that you opt for a model which is as recent as possible when choosing a particular car. The age of cars is an important factor which should be considered.

Always consider taking a test drive so as to ascertain if the car is running in perfect condition. This is quite an important step. Test driving should be preferably done on different road conditions and should be for at least 4 to 5 km. Make sure the engine does not make any creaking sound while driving. A professional test drive is always recommended.

The next step is to verify that the speedometer as well as the mileage recorder works properly. Also if the steering is vibrating it would mean that there may be something wrong with the vehicle. Once all these things are checked then make sure that you verify the documents in order to ensure that the car has been bought from an authorized dealer or a rightful owner.

Check every possible detail before a second hand car. Earlier only the international sites had a provision for these kinds of services. But now times are changing and people from different parts of the country are making use of such kinds of services within their legal jurisdiction.

The internet is a good starting point and it has turned out to be a good ground for buying or selling of new cars as well as used ones. Buying online always turns out to be a better option with all the offers and discounts available. Comments from prospective customers help a lot on a particular decision.

Buy online if you want to get away from all the frustrating situations. Many people make use of the internet as it is quite easy. Searching for the right cars according to your need has just become easier. Sometimes people even end up buying online without actually looking at the cars first. However, it is a better idea to check the car in real, to determine flaws if any, before actually buying it.

Websites which deals with the business of buying and selling of used cars take up almost all the responsibility from the client. They take up all the aspects of a deal and even look into things like insurance, accessories and other things of importance. Buying these types of cars is a good option if you have other plans like further modification and accessorizing.

If you are looking into purchasing a new or used car remember to check all of the insurance rates. To do this contact an auto insurance company or request and online auto insurance quote today and get the best rate for your vehicle.

When one considers the vast list of all the inventions and technological improvements in the history of mankind, it is a pretty amazing thing to consider. No one can actually say what was the most important invention ever, but certain devices immediately jump to most minds. One such device would be the invention of the car. It makes sense for so many people to have their own mode of transportation, and this is why many must consider the affordable solution of used cars.

It is amazing to consider just how useful a car is. Buses and trains are great too, but they can be unreliable, and one must still get to the actual location where they will pick a person up. Furthermore, if one has to carry many heavy things, they may not be able to use public transportation. This is why so many people are into the idea of owning their own vehicle to rely on.

If most humans had as much money as they wanted, almost everyone on the planet would probably own their own car. But these machines can be very expensive, which is why many people do not own them. The second that a person buys a brand new car and drives it off the lot, it seriously declines in its value. This is why other methods for purchasing must often be considered and investigated.

There is a stigma to the word used that is not rational, logical, or sane. There is nothing wrong with purchasing and using something second hand. Actually, it makes a lot of sense because the item can be checked up on. It will come with a real reputation that can be investigated. A new item has never been tested, and thus it takes a lot of trust to buy it and expect it to last a long time.

Anyone today can use the internet to perform all sorts of great searches in order to select the right car to buy. They can perform a background check and discover who has owned the vehicle, and what sort of services they performed on it to maintain it. One cannot do this with a new car, which is actually sort of odd, if one thinks about this with proper perspective. It may actually be less of a risk to buy an already driven car with the internet than to buy a new one.

As previously mentioned, the rate of decline in the value of a new car is basically absurd. A used vehicle is quite the opposite case, as it will only slightly decline in value. This means that many savvy people can buy an already driven car that is new to them every few years, rather than trying to afford a new car every ten or twenty years.

And many humans today are increasingly concerned with the environment. It is good to reuse things and to purchase large items second hand. It is wasteful to abandon a perfectly well running automobile to a junkyard, just because one is bored with it. It should instead be sold to someone in need who will still use it.

So many people are now realizing the safety and reliability of purchasing used cars. Great deals exist, and one can be very choosy and informative in this process. This system has also been in place for almost one hundred years, which means that it is pretty dependable and reliable, which makes it cost effective.

If you are looking into purchasing a new or used car remember to check all of the insurance rates. To do this contact an auto insurance company or request and online auto insurance quote today and get the best rate for your vehicle.

There has been a lot of discussion about whether motorcycle tank bags are safer or better than saddlebags. And depending on who you ask you can find every possible answer. It almost seems like there is a religious war going on between proponents and opponents of tank bags.

One of the biggest arguments against tank bags is that they are mounted higher on the bike and they therefore change the center of gravity and could lead to increased instability of the motorcycle.

While there’s no argument concerning the fact the tank bag is mounted higher on the bike, promoters claim that it’s virtually impossible to place sufficient ballast in the bag to really possess a adverse effect on the stability of the bike. You would have to pack lead balls and gold coins so the debate goes.

And while it is certainly possible that some riders use their bags to transport lead and gold around, the great majority are utilizing the tank top bag as a way to keep treasured things near them; mostly packing personal items like a camera or glasses.

Alternatively the supporters of the saddle bag are saying that it is true that the tank bag is sitting high on the bike whereas the saddlebag is sitting low on the rear axle. This moves the center of the load somewhat to the back and lower and thereby adds to the stability of the motorcycle. Also due to the placement and size of the saddle bag it is much harder to over pack it.

Of course there are also scientific approaches to this argument. The so called “load triangle” may be the argument used most. The idea is that so long as you keep almost all the load in the imaginary triangle which is formed in between the leading axle, the back axle, and the top of the riders helmet the balance of your bike is maintained.

As the tank bag is within this triangle whereas the saddle bag is well outside this triangle the preferred choice should be the bag on top of the tank.

Others say that it really doesn’t make any difference. The discussion whether the motorcycle tank bag or the saddle bag is safer is one of personal taste and faith. Both types of bags have their advantages and disadvantages. And as long as you use common sense when packing your bags, it doesn’t matter which one you use. Ride safely!

If you enjoyed this content on the disputes of the Motorcycle Tank Bag, then stop by motorcycletankbag.org where you will find up to the second critiques and variations on anything from how to pick out Hard Saddle Bags to why you should consider certain specific ones.

If you have a motorbike or you plan on getting one then you definitely will require some essential equipment to ensure your safety. The protective gear required when riding a motorcycle is the most important kit that you need.

Riding a bike provides an amazing experience, it is one of the most thrilling modes of transport. With this comes a price though as bikes are more dangerous than riding in a car, you’re less protected. To minimise any risk of severe injury you need to choose the appropriate and best protective gear to wear whilst riding your motorcycle.

There are so many different options of protective gear to select from and so many different types. In the next few paragraphs we will list out the key items and provide some hints and tips that will help you in making the correct decisions.

Helmet

The bike helmet is the most important protective gear required, it protects your skull from damage. There are many different types of helmet available in many different shapes, sizes and colours. The 3 main types of helmet available are the full face helmet, three quarter helmet plus the flip helmet. The full face and flip helmet protect the entire face and offer more protection than the three quarter helmet which exposes the jaw. The flip helmets are normally a little pricier but have an advantage that you’d not have to get rid of your helmet completely when talking to someone or grabbing a bite to eat or drink.

An important thing when selecting a helmet is to make sure that the fit is right, the helmet must be snug and not move around easy.

Motorcycle Pants

Pants protect your legs from any damage during a fall or slide. Again the variety can be overwhelming and is dependent on personal needs. Leather-based pants are popular but may not be too comfortable for longer rides in warm weather. You can actually now get jeans with Kevlar woven in to the fibre which provides great protection and comfort to the casual rider. Again for optimum protection you can get pants with body armor and Kevlar included.

Motorcyle Gloves

The gloves protect your hands, the hands and fingers are what are impacted in any accident and they need adequate protection. Another important use for gloves is to keep the hands warm. If you tried to ride with no gloves in cold winter conditions your hands would seize up and this will have an effect on the handling of the motorbike. For these reasons you should choose the proper gloves.

Probably the best kinds of gloves are Kevlar gloves, these give the most effective protection and can be cheaper than leather-based gloves. You may also like to opt for some lighter gloves for use in hotter conditions. It is important that the grip on the gloves is also sufficient to allow you to control the bike.

Motorcycle Jackets

The type of jacket you choose is dependant on the type of rider you are. The jacket protects your upper torso and is a vital item of clothing for every riders. Sport bike riders can get some great coloured leather-based jackets to match their bikes. More classical riders might opt for a traditional leather look. If opting for a leather jacket just ensure it fits nice and that the standard and thickness is sufficient to protect you in the event you fell off a motorcycle.

Riding Boots

There are lots of different styles of motorcycle boots available. When selecting a boot make sure that you’re comfortable wearing them for a long time period and you have sufficient mobility to walk comfortably in the boots. For something like motor cross you would opt for boots with a higher finish. For something like a cruiser you could opt for a more classical high top boot.

Many people have been in a minor auto accident or ‘fender bender’ at some point in their driving lives. This is very common. It is best to have auto insurance so a minor accident does not become a major deal.

You have to make sure you know what to do and what not to do after an accident, though. You can get stressed after you’ve had an accident and say or do the wrong thing. You can also forget to get the needed information and cause yourself trouble that way. It’s important to know what to do before you find yourself in that situation.

First, so long as no one is hurt, move the cars out of the road. This is very important especially if the accident happened in an intersection.

You don’t want to cause more accidents by blocking the roadway. Leaving your car in the middle of an intersection can cause more accidents and injuries. Before you start to move the cars, though, be sure to turn on hazard lights.

The second thing to remember is that you need to call the police. In some areas, police will show at even minor accidents and write up an accident report, while in other areas there must be injuries for police to come to the scene. Regardless, call the police and see if they will send someone. Having an accident report can make filing a claim with your auto insurance much easier.

Here is the most vital step to remember: you must exchange information with the other driver. Each of you needs the other party’s name, phone number, insurance carrier, policy number driver’s license number, and license plate number. It is also a good idea to get some details on the other vehicle, such as make, model, year and color.

While you are exchanging information don’t make small talk. It’s too easy to say the wrong thing. Don’t apologize for anything or admit fault in any way. Let the police determine who is at fault.

If you have a camera or camera phone, get out and take some pictures of the vehicles. Try to get shots of both, including the damage done, and get a few shots of the cars’ position in relation to each other. Then when you leave the scene of the accident, call your insurance company and report the accident and provide all of the relevant details they request.

The Harley Davidson Company officially started with the completion of its first bike in 1903. Unofficially it all began in 1901 when 21-year-old William S. Harley drew up plans for a little engine that displaced 7.07 cubic inches and had 4-inch flywheels.

By 1903 William Harley had joined with his boyhood friend Arthur Davidson, as well as Arthur’s bro Walter. They used the machine shop of their buddy Henry Melk to finish the prototype of their first engine-powered bike. The engine that powered this prototype was not quite strong enough to shove the motored-bike up Milwaukee’s modest hills without the rider turning to pedal power.

The 1st “real” Harley Davidson motorcycle was finally finished with extra help from another Davidson bro named William. It was regarded as having a bigger engine of 24.74 cubic inches with 9-3 / four inch flywheels weighing 28 pounds. The new bike was functional by September 08, 1904, and made its first appearance in a Milwaukee motorbike race.

The 1st Harley Davidson Motor Company factory was built in 1906 on Chestnut Street. It had been a modest 40 by 60 foot single story wooden structure. Chestnut Street was later renamed Juneau Avenue, and though the original structure got replaced, this location remains the Motor Company’s company HQ to this day. A total of 50 motorbikes were produced in 1906.

The following year, 1907 led to much change for the fledgling company. William S. Harley graduated from the school of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in mechanical engineering. The factory was expanded and the company officially incorporated. Production increased to 150 bikes in 1907.

Success continued in the years that followed. The original factory was demolished and replaced by a new 5-story structure of reinforced concrete and red brick. It shortly grew to take up 2 blocks along Juneau Avenue and round the corner on 38th Street. In this period bikes produced by Harley Davidson began to control the motorcycle racing arena and production reached 16,284 in 1914.

World War I saw the requirement for motorbikes in the military. Harley Davidson provided over 20,000 motorcycles to army forces during World War I. Improvements and increased production continued after the war. The Harley Davidson Motor Company was actually one of only two American cycle makers to survive the Great Depression. The company continued to provide machines for the military thru World War Two and the Korean War. The Jeep then replaced it in popularity.

The Harley Davidson Motor Company is still going robust today, regardless of bumps and bruises on the way. You may recognize it on the stock exchange under the symbol HOG.

Many bikers are extremely fond of their motorcycles. Although many of these bikers take very good care of their bikes, most motorcycles eventually die. Often the lifespan of a hard-ridden bike is a mere decade. Other motorcycles expire much earlier, usually due to a bad accident or fire. Other bikes are replaced with newer models.

No matter the reason for a motorcycle’s retirement, nearly all of the end up in the same place: a motorcycle salvage yard. These junkyards contain bikes of all different kinds. Old models and brand new ones alike can be found in the salvage yard.

However, just because a motorcycle ends up in the motorcycle salvage yard, its life does not necessarily end. With such an array of bikes and parts to choose from, junkyards are a common destination for those looking to rebuild old bikes. Sometimes a bike enthusiast is able to find a decent bike in the junkyard and then get it running with other parts from the same junkyard. Other times these bikes become something altogether different. For instance, a group of scientists from India built an efficient vehicle capable of seating eight passengers. This vehicle was constructed entirely of spare parts gathered from junkyards; these parts were all over two decades old!

Visiting the Motorcycle Salvage Yard

Motorcycle salvage yards can be full of activity. Many bike enthusiasts visit to look for spare parts to keep their current bike in peak running condition. Additionally, lots of people just love to sift through the motorcycle salvage yard looking for interesting parts to create new gadgets from. It is common to find many different types of people trading for various old parts. Others are on the lookout for rare or valuable bikes long abandoned to the junkyard. For instance, the Suzuki Shogun is an often sought after bike that is no longer made. However, it remains an extremely popular bike due to its great features and attractive look. Bikes like this are always snatched up.

In addition to having many junked bikes, a motorcycle salvage yard is a great place to get information. Usually owners and employees of these junkyards are knowledgeable mechanics or bike enthusiasts. It is often possible to glean worthwhile knowledge from them or at least get help finding what you are looking for. The Internet is a great resource for finding out about particular parts too. Many motorcycle salvage yards have websites allowing customers to make inquiries without visiting the junkyard at all. It’s possible to find that missing part and get it shipped from a junkyard anywhere in the country!

There is plenty of information about motorcycles on the internet. For additional information checkout this website on motorcycle salvage.

Amsoil, started in 1972, guarantees the quality of their motor oil for one year or 25,000 miles. Your local oil change chain suggests 3 months or 3,000 miles. Amsoil is a pioneer synthetic oil company and produces one of the best synthetic motor oils in the trade.

These days high performance cars, like Chevrolet Corvette and Dodge Viper, come filled with synthetic motor oil from the factory. Why? Because the best synthetic motor oils are resistant to extreme temperatures and do not form sludge deposits in the motor like petroleum motor oils. The motor remains clog free and oil flow is continuous, thereby preventing any wear and tear and thereby lowering maintenance costs.

These oils do not cause leaks as they are completely compatible with the seal materials and prevent any kind of leakage. One of the best synthetic motor oils is manufactured from synthetic base stock and other additives. Theses lubricants provide improved overall performance compared to other petroleum oils.

Amsoil, a reputable oil manufacturing company recognized by the API, produces the best synthetic motor oil by using high performance synthetic base oils like poly alphaoliefin and appropriate additives. It can be used in any vehicle as it is compatible with both diesel and gasoline engines. Because they maintain and lubricate the engine so well, it is a must jet engine and turbo charged engines. No other conventional or petroleum motor oil can retain its properties and lubrication at such high temperatures.

The engines treated with Amsoil synthetic oil do not need as much maintenance and an annual drain is adequate, this helps in reducing environmental effects as a small portion of oil can foul gallons of clean water. These oils can also reduce oil consumption, no wonder these are also called the best synthetic motor oils.
