Signs To Spot Devoted Motorbike Fans
Posted by Hannah Warder on May 23, 2010
How can you tell the difference between an ‘average Joe’ and a devoted motorbike fan? There are quite a few sure signs depending on what kind of motorbike fan they are, and where they are located in the world. If you are inspired to start your journey on becoming a faithful fan, make sure you take out the correct motorbike insurance first!
Memorabilia galore
Have you ever seen someone completely decked out in Harley Davidson clothes, complete with hat, wallet, and belt? If so, it is highly likely that this person is a complete motorbike obsessive, with a passion for Harley Davidson’s. If you happen to see this person next to, or on, one of these bikes, then you will know for sure. Of course, it doesn’t need to be this type of bike; it could be a Yamaha or a Moto Guzzi.
What rain?
Every year, there are important motorcycling events or races being held throughout the calendar year. From time to time, there are people standing there getting completely saturated from a barrage of rain being pelted from the sky. Does it matter? Not unless the weather calls for the event to be cancelled. Ponchos, raincoats, and umbrellas all the way! But you must remember that driving in the rain could be dangerous and should only be left to the most experienced motorcyclists.
Social networking
With many forums and social media sites now booming throughout the internet, you can certainly pick out the motorbike fanatics here. On someone’s social networking site you may find endless digital photograph albums of their beloved bike, or bikes they’ve seen and loved. On forums you will find many fans discussing and arguing the finest points of different makes and models, and what makes the sport and leisure activity such fun.
Bike meet ups
These like-minded people can also be seen on various bike meet ups across the country and world. This may be all parking down at the nearest roadside cafe for a full English breakfast and a bike comparing session; or it may be a procession of 100 bikers getting ready to ride three hours with celebrities like Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor as they made their way to Cape Town [1].
