Rolling Thunder 21

Cliff and I had the privilege of riding in this year’s Rolling Thunder Parade. We joined over 400,000 other riders in honoring our nations brave service men and women. We will ‘never forget’ our veterans who have given so much for our freedom. We all rode as a reminder of the sacrifice of the veterans who now serve, those who returned from war and those who did not.
This was an overwhelming experience. The proud patriotism and all to painful memories caused many choked back tears and swelling hearts. As we listened to the rumble of starting motorcycles, swell and roll over us, we all took our turn starting up and heading out in double file. The strength of our emotions caused us all to be very quiet. There was no party atmosphere in this parade. As the bright sun shone down on us, we soberly took our places in line and returned the many peace signs and waves to the supporters along the route. The comradeship of remembrances was very tangible.
Cliff and I will “never forget” the ride we took on that day.
