Rolling Thunder 2008

Just returned from the Rolling Thunder in Washington DC and uploaded pictures taken in the Pentagon parking lot and on the streets in DC on our way to the Vietnam Memorial (The WALL) . Estimates have ranged up to hundreds of thousands of participants and the continuous rumble of the bikes for hours was very impressive. The streets of DC were lined with parade watchers and signs along the way for the support of veterans was something to be proud of. We were probably in the middle, with the start after the helicopter flyover at noon. Our section started moving about 1:00. This is the 21st Rolling Thunder, mainly Vietnam War veterans and supporters who descend on the capital every Memorial Day Weekend to keep Washington focused on the plight of the families of soldiers still missing in action and the cause of veterans.
